On 26 July 2011 friends and family did a walk 'Huby and the Wharfe' for John's birthday on 17th July. This was a favourite walk that John and I did every year for the last 5 years. Whilst the rain soaked us all through we had a lovely day. It was a day of mixed emotions, very sad that John was not there as he would have loved doing the walk with all his friends and family but also a nice feeling to know that all John's family and friends did not hesitate to come along. We all sat and had a picnic at our favourite spot where John and I used to sit and make plans for our future. The rain stopped and the sun came out just as we started our picnic. After the walk we alll went home for a nice shower and met up later at the Brown Cow Pub. Many of Johns friends came from Templenewsam Golf Club and we raffled a hamper which raised £100 for The Stroke Association. It was so nice to see everyone and was a comfort to know that John was a big part of everyone's life and would always be remembered. All in all a lovely day to remember John and raise money for a good cause. Thank you so much to everyone who was came along. Love Diane, Matty and Sean xxx
